Climate Change: A Display of the LORD’S Anger?

You be the judge! Is climate change a demonstration of the LORD’s anger?

The LORD had said, “I WILL MAKE YOUR HEAVEN AS IRON, AND YOUR EARTH AS BRASS”! An iron heaven is very cold when cooled and very hot when heated, hence the extreme temperatures during winter and summer, while a brass earth is not water absorbent hence the flash floods in various places!

Is God angry? Why will he do such things as above? It is generally believed that the LORD is a merciful and loving God. Does he have a reason to be angry? How does he express his anger? Let’s find out.

In the book of Isaiah, God declared:

Isaiah 46:9-10 (KJV) Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Obviously, the Lord God was angry and was chiding the children of Israel when he declared the above words. The cause of the LORD’s anger was conveyed through Jeremiah, another prophet writing for him:

Jeremiah 9:2 (KJV, the LORD conveying his disappointment) Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place…that I might leave my people, and go (away) from them…3…for they proceed from evil to evil…6 …THEY REFUSE TO KNOW ME, said the LORD.

God wants himself to be known to his entire human creation, but the people he first manifested himself to had refused, and are still refusing to know him to this day. That is the reason for his anger. God’s desire to be known is expressed in the main proviso of his covenant with the Israelites.

Exodus 6:7 (KJV, the LORD laying down the terms of his covenant) And I WILL TAKE YOU TO ME FOR A PEOPLE, AND I WILL BE TO YOU A GOD: and (this is a command) YOU SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD…

Non-Israelites are covered by the terms of the covenant after God extended its scope to make it all inclusive:

Isaiah 56:6 (KJV, the LORD speaking through the Prophet Isaiah) Also the sons of the stranger (non-Israelites) that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that…TAKES HOLD OF MY COVENANT; 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer;…for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for ALL PEOPLE.

The Covenant’s main proviso was revised by God during the time of Paul:

2Co 6:18 (KJV, Paul the Apostle relaying God’s amended proposition) And I will be a Father unto you, and you shall be MY SONS AND DAUGHTERS, said the Lord Almighty.

This proviso was, from all indications, based on God’s TWO-PHASED PLAN that was clearly stated in Genesis 1:26. It was in pursuit of that plan that God issued covenants.

Here is God’s two-phased plan:

Gene 1:26 (KJV, Moses taking dictation from the LORD) And God said, Let us make man in our IMAGE (Phase 1), after our LIKENESS (Phase 2):…

The word “IMAGE”, Hebrew tselem, item 6754 in Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, means simply a similitude, a phantom, ghost. In God’s spirit world, we humans are ghosts.
We are made of CLAY.

Isaiah 64:8 (KJV, the Prophet speaking) But now, O LORD, you are our father; we [are] the CLAY, and you our POTTER; and we all [are] the work of your hand.

By contrast, the word “LIKENESS” in God’s plan, Hebrew demooth, item 1823 in Strong’s, means “CONCRETELY MODEL”. The key word is “MODEL”.

The dictionary defines MODEL as a standard or example for imitation.

Real estate developers would advertize their products by constructing house models for buyers to choose from. They would then construct the house according to the SPECS (specifications) of the model chosen by the buyer. Those house MODELS therefore are there for IMITATION.

In our case, GOD IS OUR MODEL. God wants to create us after his own SPECS! We are to imitate God!

The word “likeness” therefore, Heb demooth, means exact copy or replicate looking the same as the original in material, form, size and features. God is spirit; therefore his replicates are also spirit. If and when we become God’s sons and daughters, we shall become spirit beings like him!

GOD NEGOTIATES FROM POSITION OF STRENGTH

Mount Sinai shook and smoked when the LORD descended on it to present to the Israelites his proposition:

Exo 19:2 (KJV, written by Moses) For they (the Israelites on their way out of Egypt) were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

GOD STARTS NEGOTIATIONS

3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;

GOD’S PROPOSITION

…6 …[Y]ou shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak unto the children of Israel…

GOD DISPLAYS HIS TERRIFYING POWER:

Exo 19:18 (KJV, written by Moses) And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
Exo 20:18 (KJV, written by Moses) And all the people saw the THUNDERINGS, AND THE LIGHTNINGS, AND THE NOISE OF THE TRUMPET, AND THE MOUNTAIN SMOKING: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. 19 And they said unto Moses, Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. 20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and (this was his goal in displaying his power) THAT HIS FEAR MAY BE BEFORE YOUR FACES, that you sin not.

From all indications, climate change, and the mutating COVID virus, are simply God’s way of showing his power, and anger, THAT HIS FEAR MAY BE BEFORE OUR FACES.

However, the LORD’s earlier display of awesome power was probably, just probably, not convincing enough so that the people transgressed his covenant:

Hoseah 6:6 (KJV, the LORD speaking) For I desired…(that his people exert efforts to acquire) the knowledge of God… (but they refused to know the LORD). 7 But they like men have TRANSGRESSED THE COVENANT: there have THEY DEALT TREACHEROUSLY AGAINST ME.

The LORD is upping the ante – from disasters to catastrophes:

Lev 26:18 (KJV, the LORD speaking through Moses) And if you will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you SEVEN TIMES more for your sins. 19 … and I WILL MAKE YOUR HEAVEN AS IRON, AND YOUR EARTH AS BRASS:

There is the real cause of climate change! The LORD himself foretold through his prophets the ill effects of iron heaven and brass earth:

FOREST FIRES

Hoseah 8:14 (KJV) For ISRAEL HAS FORGOTTEN HIS MAKER…and Judah has multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a FIRE UPON HIS CITIES, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

FURNACE-LIKE TEMPERATURES

Isaiah 48:10 (KJV) Behold, I have refined you, but not with silver; I have chosen you in the FURNACE OF AFFLICTION.

FUNNEL CLOUDS (TORNADOES)

Jeremiah 51:1 (KJV) Thus said the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them (the Israelites) that dwell in the midst of THEM THAT RISE UP AGAINST ME, a DESTROYING WIND; 2 And will send unto Babylon FANNERS, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they (the destroying wind) shall be against her round about.

FLASH FLOODS

Jeremiah 47:2 (KJV) Thus said the LORD; Behold, WATERS RISE UP (literal or metaphoric) out of the north (i.e., north of Jerusalem, such as US, EU, Russia, China, etc.), and shall be an OVERFLOWING FLOOD, and shall overflow THE LAND, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.

FEVER-INDUCING VIRUSES:

Leviticus 26:14 (KJV, the LORD speaking through Moses) But if you will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these (three provisions, namely) COMMANDMENTS; 15…STATUTES…(and) JUDGMENTS, so that…YOU BREAK MY COVENANT (to be his people and him their God): 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you…CONSUMPTION (disease of the lungs, i.e., COVID, per Thayer’s Concordance), and the BURNING AGUE (fever-inducing illnesses), that shall consume the eyes (i.e., cause death), and cause sorrow of heart (to the living)…

Ms. Clara Nugent of Time Magazine wrote a frightening rundown of recent calamities directly caused by iron heaven and brass earth:

“Flames light up hillsides in British Columbia. Smoke swells over highways into Athens. A swimming pool in California is surrounded by charred rubble. Thick forests in Siberia lie shriveled and brown…
“In parts of the western U.S.,…fires broke out in parts of Oregon and California, together consuming more than 230,000 hectares, part of a nationwide toll of over 1 million hectares burned so far in wildfires this year.
“In early July (2021)…the small town of Lytton (in British Columbia) briefly became one of the hottest places on earth…with temperatures topping 49.5° C (121.1° F). Then a fierce wildfire tore through town, destroying 90% of its buildings and leaving residents minutes to escape.
“…Southern Europe’s Mediterranean countries are sweltering…one town in northern Greece reached 47.1°C (116.8°F) on Aug. 4…
“In Turkey, …fires…burned through more than 11,000 hectares of forest, killing eight people, most of them in the southern town of Manavgat…
“In Italy…some 800 fires burned this week across multiple regions… “…In northern Finland—flames consumed 300 hectares of forest in the remote Kalajoki River basin…
“…In eastern Russia’s Siberian Yakutia region, more than 4.2 million hectares have burned so far this year…
“All of this could put us at risk of falling into a devastating cycle: as the greenhouse gases released by fires…will likely become even more favorable for fires, which in turn could keep driving up temperatures.” (End of quotes)

In “appointing” these catastrophes, God’s rationale is clear: either we agree to become his sons and daughters and live forever, or we return to dust and disappear forever!

Gen 3:19 (KJV, the LORD speaking after Adam sinned) In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground; for out of it were you taken: for DUST YOU ARE, AND UNTO DUST SHALL YOU RETURN.

God is our potter:

Jer 18:1 (KJV) The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear my words. 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was MARRED in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 6 O HOUSE OF ISRAEL, CANNOT I DO WITH YOU AS THIS POTTER? said the LORD. Behold, AS THE CLAY IS IN THE POTTER’S HAND, SO ARE YOU IN MINE HAND, O house of Israel (and GENTILES as well!)

Clearly, God wants to mould us into his likeness! But man in general has so far refused to exert efforts to even know their Creator. Many look to gods of gold, and silver, and stocks – the idols of today, prompting the LORD to react with anger.

A JEALOUS GOD

It is no secret that the LORD is a jealous God. Moses, knowing this, warned the Israelites on the danger of provoking God to jealousy:

Deu 6:14 (KJV, Moses speaking) You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; 15 (For the LORD your God is a JEALOUS GOD among you) lest the ANGER of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and DESTROY YOU FROM OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

The people went after other gods nevertheless, hence the anger of the LORD is now kindled. Arguably, climate change is human-caused – but obviously not because of their use of fossil fuel and husbandry of flatulent mammals!

All evils to happen IN THAT DAY, which is TODAY:

Deu 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and WILL FORSAKE ME, AND BREAK MY COVENANT WHICH I HAVE MADE WITH THEM. 17 Then MY ANGER shall be kindled against them IN THAT DAY, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and MANY EVILS AND TROUBLES SHALL BEFALL THEM; so that they will say IN THAT DAY, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us? 18 And I will surely hide my FACE IN THAT DAY for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

These present catastrophes are just preliminaries. More severe plagues are coming our way. He is apparently weeding out the undesirables:

Rev 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the SEVEN LAST PLAGUES; for in them is filled up the WRATH OF GOD.

One last comment: Those of us who refuse to know God, those who do not want to become his children, those who don’t believe in the LORD’s plan to create us after his own likeness invested with eternal life and supernatural power, are disposable — like clay.

Those of us who had offended God can easily win him back:

Lev 26:41 (the LORD speaking) …If then their uncircumcised (closed, stubborn, unwilling to know God) hearts be humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: 42 THEN WILL I REMEMBER MY COVENANT WITH JACOB, AND ALSO MY COVENANT WITH ISAAC, AND ALSO MY COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM will I remember (i.e., to make sons and daughters out of humans); and I will remember the land.

We need to get to know the LORD fast and keep his covenant henceforth to assuage his wrath! We need to cease gallivanting around and face the music instead! We are now living “in that day”!■

Forest Fires, Flash Floods, Funnel-Clouds, Furnace-Like Temps, And Fever-Inducing Viruses In Frenzy: Forerunners Of The LORD’s Fury?

Of late, our world is being wrecked by destructive forces beyond human ability to attenuate. These natural, or better yet, unnatural, disasters are according to experts the results of climate change. Climate change is in turn being attributed by the same experts to human activities, such as the use of fossil fuels, deforestation, intensive farming, improper waste disposal, unbridled consumption and, strangely, on the flatulence of some mammals such as cows, buffalos, sheep and goats. Humans and mammals, however, have been in a symbiotic relationship with nature for ages while climate change is a recent phenomenon, hence the linkage is questionable, to say the least. We need to find a more plausible cause of climate change other than the above.

How about God?

Surely God knew, and might even have to do with what’s happening to his creation! Let’s check the Scriptures.

Here are some of the LORD’s pronouncements, spoken through his prophets:

Jeremiah 25:15 (KJV, the Prophet speaking) For thus said the LORD God…unto me; Take the WINE CUP of this FURY at my hand, and cause ALL THE NATIONS…to drink it. 16 And they shall drink, … and be mad, because of the SWORD that I WILL SEND AMONG THEM…27 Therefore you shall say unto them, Thus said the LORD of Hosts…29 …I will call for a SWORD upon ALL THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH…33 And the slain of the LORD shall be AT THAT DAY from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

Undoubtedly, these are the pronouncements of an angry God! Note that this pronouncement was not immediate, but to take effect AT THAT DAY which, from all indications, is happening now!

But, one might ask, what might have ‘triggered’ the LORD’s anger? The same Prophet had the answer:

(KJV) The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2 Hear you the WORDS OF THIS COVENANT, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem (the inhabitants of Jerusalem are not all Israelites and Jews – Gentiles were grafted in among them, Roma 11:17, so that all people are being addressed here); 3 And say you unto them, Thus said the LORD God of Israel; CURSED BE THE MAN THAT OBEYS NOT THE WORDS OF THIS COVENANT, …7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, EVEN UNTO THIS DAY…saying, Obey my voice. 8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I WILL BRING UPON THEM ALL THE WORDS OF THIS COVENANT, WHICH I COMMANDED THEM TO DO; BUT THEY DID THEM NOT.

Let’s read the ORIGINAL words of the covenant which the LORD will bring upon us Jews and Gentiles for failing to do what he prescribed:

Levi 26:14 (KJV, the LORD addressing the Israelites, but according to Paul, Gentiles have been grafted into their Olive Tree, Roma 11:17, hence all people on earth are being addressed here) But if you will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these COMMANDMENTS; 15 And…my STATUTES, or…my JUDGMENTS (these were the 3 main provisions of his covenant), so that you…BREAK MY COVENANT…16 I ALSO WILL DO THIS UNTO YOU; I will even appoint over you TERROR (the United States and her NATO allies have been fighting terror with uncertain results), CONSUMPTION, (Thayer’s Concordance: a wasting DISEASE OF THE LUNGS – i.e., COVID!) and the burning ague (EBOLA, SARS, MERS, FLU and other deadly illnesses), that shall consume the eyes (meaning cause death), and cause sorrow of heart (to the living): and you shall sow your seed in vain (agriculture, businesses, investments will fail), for your enemies (competitors, scammers, inside-traders, big-time speculators) shall eat it (through currency manipulation; cyber attacks, other tricks). 17 And I will set my face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies (as had happened in Vietnam, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan!): they that hate you (former slaves and immigrants who feel oppressed) shall reign over you (through elections); and you shall flee when none pursues you (as in the case of the sub-prime housing loans which led to whole villages being abandoned to the detriment of both investors and homeowners!).

SEVEN-TIMES SEVERITY

18 And if you WILL NOT yet for all this hearken unto me, then I WILL PUNISH YOU SEVEN TIMES MORE FOR YOUR SINS.

The seven-times severity of these punishments were to be repeated four (4) times so that every occurrence is of catastrophic proportions. There is the source of the present catastrophes!

CLIMATE CHANGE!

19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I WILL MAKE YOUR HEAVEN AS IRON, AND YOUR EARTH AS BRASS:

There. We have found the true cause of climate change. An IRON HEAVEN is very cool when cooled and very hot when heated, hence the extreme temperatures we are having today. A BRASS EARTH, on the other hand, is not water absorbent, hence the flash floods that occur in various places.

As of this writing, CBS News had released a report on heatwaves plaguing the West:

This latest heat wave comes on the heels of the hottest June on record for the United States.
“…[T]he core of this latest heat dome is centered further south, over the Desert Southwest and Southern California… the hottest temperatures will be found in areas like Las Vegas and Redding. In these two cities the highs are forecast to reach around 117 to 119 degrees Fahrenheit. If the mercury breaches these readings, all-time highs will once again fall.
“…[S]igns that this overall global blocking pattern will relax anytime soon are few and far between. So it is likely that SUCH HEAT DOMES WILL CONTINUE TO REAPPEAR from place to place throughout the summer.

In the recent Pacific Northwest heat wave alone, several hundred people died, and the numbers continue to rise. On average, heat waves kill more people in the U.S. than any other type of extreme weather.
“Yearly, about 500,000 deaths are attributed to extreme heat, and one recent study found that more than a third of global heat-related deaths are due to the impact of climate change.
“There is unanimous agreement in the climate science community that heat waves will grow more frequent and more intense as we continue to heat the planet. (Comment: It is the LORD who is now heating our planet!) We can’t call what we are seeing today “the new normal” because it will continue to get worse.” (End of quotes)

Let the LORD continue with his chastisements of the Israelites and Gentiles, as spoken by Jeremiah the Prophet:

Jeremiah 11:9 And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the (Israelite and Gentile) inhabitants of Jerusalem. 10 They are turned back to the ~~iniquities~~ (lawlessness) of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and THEY WENT AFTER OTHER GODS TO SERVE THEM: the house of Israel and the house of Judah (and the Gentiles that were grafted in among them) have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

For those who came late in history, the MAIN PROVISO of the LORD’s covenant is:

Exo 6:7 (KJV, the LORD speaking through Moses)… I will take you to me for a people, and I WILL BE TO YOU A GOD…

This was THE proviso that the people broke when they went after other gods! Part of this proviso is a command:

…and YOU SHALL KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD your God…

The people refuse to know the LORD their God:

Jeremiah 9:6 Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit THEY REFUSE TO KNOW ME, said the LORD.

Let Jeremiah continue:

Jeremiah 11:11 Therefore thus said the LORD, Behold, I will bring EVIL upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.

These are some of the evils that will come our way which we shall not be able to escape:

Deu 28:15 But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes (and judgments) which I command you this day; that all these CURSES shall come upon you, and overtake you: 16 Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field…47 BECAUSE YOU SERVED NOT THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH JOYFULNESS, and with gladness of heart, for the ABUNDANCE OF ALL THINGS;…
48 THEREFORE SHALL YOU SERVE YOUR ENEMIES WHICH THE LORD SHALL SEND AGAINST YOU, IN HUNGER, AND IN THIRST, AND IN NAKEDNESS, AND IN WANT OF ALL THINGS:…

The LORD’s anger can be assuaged — EASILY:

Levi 26: 40 IF they shall CONFESS their iniquity (i.e., if they turn to God and start obeying his laws)…41…IF then their uncircumcised (CLOSED, UNLEARNED, IGNORANT) hearts be humbled, and they then ACCEPT OF THE PUNISHMENT of their iniquity: 42 Then will I remember MY COVENANT WITH JACOB, AND ALSO MY COVENANT WITH ISAAC, AND ALSO MY COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM WILL I REMEMBER…
